Community guidelines
Awajdo exists so people can raise real problems where they live and be taken seriously. These rules exist to keep it usable for that, and nothing else.
What belongs here
- Civic and infrastructure problems — roads, water, power, drainage, waste, transport, public buildings.
- Failures of public service — an office that will not act, a scheme that is not reaching people.
- Corruption you have direct knowledge of, described factually.
- Social issues affecting your area, with enough detail that someone could act on it.
What does not
Illegal content
Violence or incitement to it, hate speech targeting a religion, caste, region, gender or community, sexual content, and anything else that is illegal under Indian law. Removed, and reported to the authorities where the law requires it.
Personal attacks and harassment
Criticising an official's conduct is the entire point of this platform and is always allowed. Attacking a person — their family, appearance, caste, religion, or private life — is not. The line is whether you are describing what someone did in their public role, or attacking who they are.
Party politics
No campaigning, no party promotion, no election material, no "which party is better". This rule is not neutrality theatre: the moment Awajdo is seen as aligned with a party, every genuine complaint posted here gets dismissed as partisan noise, and the people who most need this platform lose it. Issues, not parties.
False claims and impersonation
Do not accuse someone of something you cannot describe first-hand. Do not pose as another person, an official, an organisation or Awajdo itself.
How enforcement works
Posts go live immediately — there is no queue and no pre-approval. If enough people report a post, it is automatically hidden from others while a moderator reviews it. During that time the author can still see it, labelled "Under review", so nothing quietly disappears.
If the post turns out to be fine, it is restored and the reports counted against it are marked false. People who repeatedly file false reports stop being able to trigger this — which is what stops a coordinated group from burying posts they simply do not like.
Reporting is also rate limited. If you report a lot of content in a short window, your account is flagged for a human to look at.
Posting anonymously
Any post can be published without your name attached, and the same posting rules apply either way — anonymity is not a shortcut around them.
Be clear about the limit: Awajdo records who posted, encrypted. Indian law (IT Rules, 2021) requires us to be able to answer a defamation complaint or a lawful order. Revealing an author needs a specific staff permission, a written reason, a second identity check by the staff member, and it is recorded permanently in a log that cannot be edited afterwards. Nobody here can do it quietly. Post anonymously when you need to — but post things that are true.
